Reykjavik Whale Watching Diary May 23rd 2012

Tour @ 10:00

Weather this morning was warm but quite windy. We went out in hope to see as much as yesterday, and indeed we did! There were about twenty Minke Whales all around feeding. They weren’t as playful as yesterday but they were still a lot of fun to watch and came very close to the boat, some even 5-10 meters away :) On the way out we also stopped by at Akurey to see the Puffins and they were there, looking cute :P A lot of Gannets and Terns were flying over the whale watching area as they have been for the past few days, there must be a lot of Sandeel in the sea for them. On the way back it was much more windy and sea was getting a bit rough.

Tour @ 14:00

Unfortunately we had to cancel our tour at 14 o’clock today because of strong winds out on Faxaflói Bay. We hope that it will calm down tonight so that we are good to go tomorrow morning :)
