Finally good weather again! After two nasty stormy days it is wonderful today. Sunshine, calm sea and little wind. Perfect whale watching conditions. And what a great tour it was! When we reached our ususal whale watching grounds we spotted several minke whales in the area, about 10-15 animals. They were in a generous mood as well, surfacing all around the boat. They were busy feeding and one of them turned around and showed its white belly close to the boat. Plenty of birds around as well, beautiful gannets and arctic terns. We watched the birds and the whales until it was time to head back home. After a short visit to the puffins on Akurey we sailed back to the harbour with a boat full of happy whale watchers. Awesome start of the day

And it just got better! That was such an exciting tour! In the beginning we could not find any whales so our captain decided to try a different direction. We headed there speedily and all of a sudden a minke whale popped up 50 metres from the boat. We stopped the engines and waited. After a moment the minke surfaced again and we watched it for a while. Then we spotted something else. Something very exciting. In the distance we saw a humpback whale! It turned around and lifted its flippers out of the water. Great ending to an awesome whale watching day
